BELLA MORTE
Beautiful Death
Genre:
Goth
Bella Morte
once again descends upon the music scene with a new release, Beautiful Death.
The album plays atmospheric, orchestral and hard with song complex and intricate
songs that draw you in like a siren’s cries. Fear not though, the album still
slams where it matters with a mix of heavy hitters pounding throughout the
album. Somber, morose, and disconsolate the album delivers everything you would
expect from a Bella Morte release. Their first album since their lineup change
in 2007, Beautiful Death features Tony Pugh taking the place of Gopal Metro on
bass. Luckily for fans the changeup has done little to change the band’s sound
as Beautiful Death certainly measures up to past releases from Bella Morte.
Beautiful Death continues the sound Bella Morte created in Bleed the Sky Grey
and Black with atmospheric and operatic arrangements as Andy Deane continues to
push his vocal range even further. Meanwhile, the album still maintains the hard
sound Bella Morte perfected on As The Reasons Die. Bella Morte has left no stone
unturned or note unplayed to create a Beautiful Death. Will be released on
Metropolis Records.

KMFDM
Extra Volume 3
Genre:

Metropolis
Records presents KMFDM Extra. Extra is a three volume set of double disc
collections of all KMFDM tracks not included on the ten KMFDM Classic albums.
KMFDM Extra features recordings culled from the band’s 12” vinyl singles, CD
singles and alternate versions of albums. Every track in the Extra series has
been remastered by the same crew who did the amazing remasters for all 10 KMFDM
Classic albums. All of the material on Extra has been out of print for many
years. Some songs in the Extra series appear on CD for the first time ever and
none of them have been released in remastered form before. Continuing the
tradition started with the KMFDM Classic releases the accompanying booklets for
the Extra series are packed with exciting material. Some highlights include
cover art from every album and single from which cuts were taken (most covers
are by famed KMFDM cohort Brute!), never before seen photos of the band from the
time period, release history info for all tracks and previously unavailable
complete recording information and credits. As it has been with all the KMFDM
re-releases on Metropolis, work on this series, from the remastering to the
packaging, has been done with the highest level of participation from Sascha K.,
KMFDM’s leader and founder. Extra Volume 3, coming October 7th, is comprised of
songs from the Glory single in 1994 to the MDFMK EP in 1998. This two disc set
contains 26 tracks, over 2 hours and 16 minutes of music. Extra Vol. 3 features
the original re-mixes of some of KMFDM’s biggest hits: “Juke-Joint Jezebel”,
“Megalomaniac”, “Brute”, “Anarchy” plus b-sides, extra tracks and more! Extra
Vol. 3 also includes a 16 page booklet featuring art, photos and anecdotes.
Extra Vol. 1 and Extra Vol. 2 are out and available now, get them all and
complete the KMFDM Extra trilogy. “Extra! Extra! Read all about it, KMFDM Extra
is better than the best!”

OhGr
Devils in my Details
Genre:
Industrial
Anyone
familiar with Ogre, the formidable solo artist and frontman for electronic-rock
avatars Skinny Puppy, would expect that at this juncture in his long and storied
career, he'd, you know, chill out. After years of delivering intense physical
performances and lyrical mise en scenes framing mankind's thoughtlessness, one
would hope the singer would maybe buy a log cabin up in the mountains, take up
an acoustic guitar and prepare a disc's worth of Appalachian folk songs recorded
on wax-cylinder technology. Yeah, like that's ever going to happen. Fortunately,
the frontman for ohGr is ready to unveil his debut solo disc for SPV, Devils In
My Details. If the previous ohGr disc, 2003's SunnyPsyOp, was an old-school
electro-influenced affair with a twist of anxiety and a few dashes of neurosis,
ohGr 2K8 is an emotionally beaten vessel that deceptively looks as strong as a
kitten, barring the massive subterfuge he's about to unleash upon you. As
captivating as Devil In My Details is musically, Ogre sees the disc as an
opportunity to clarify some things."The personal is visceral and has shock value
to create a longer narrative art," he explains. "I think a lot of people
perceive my character, as well as my role in Skinny Puppy, as scary and spooky.
But the character I've created all these years ago is mirroring the things in
the world that scare him and reflecting that fear into the world. It's an
externalized manifestation of what's going on his head, whatever it amped out
to. That theme is pretty common to me but on this record, it's being fleshed out
in a conceptual way. It starts out in a place where you're consumed by whatever
it is that's happening around you, which you internalize. Then you add things to
it that creates an externalization. When the externalization comes through,
things start falling apart and eventually you're stuck in a place where you have
to look within to save your life. At the end, there's a hope that there will be
a witness somewhere to validate your experience." Released on Synthetic
Symphony.
