Stillness of Body and Thought

By Deacon Gray

“For a moment there was silence, even the little voice in my head perked its ear to the voices of the universe, a whisper of enlightenment.” -“Ancient Blood” excerpt

Paramount to the Sexual Vampire once they become aware of their own energy needs and its various uses are learning how to understand it. Most of the articles written in this section speak to the vampire as if they already know to some extent about how to affect their energy. However, if you are like me and learned to feed long before you learned about what you are, and the reasons for your actions, it might not be so simple use this energy.

The Interesting things about individual energy for vampires, unlike others, is that our own level of energy increases and decreases with such frequency that we are not able to count of a consistent level of energy to draw from. We are however able to learn with some skill how to use what we have and to what level. Of course, this is also determined on being able to recognize ones own energy and where ones energy level stands.

Many cultures through out time have learned these skills. Most of which I personally believe came from the vampires through out time out of need, and have been passed on people who have discovered uses for those practices, and even refined them. Many people today can use energy in similar fashion as vampires, some have spent their whole lives learning to understand those energies and employ them both in their belief systems and in their personal lives.

Tantra, Buddhism and many others like transcendentalism have found their energy, learned its rhythms and learned how to employ them to impressive results. These skills are in no way restricted to vampires, but a smart vampire can learn how they gained their result and employ it in a like manner.

The most common aspect of these groups has been learning how to meditate. There are many methods both ancient and modern of meditation and really, the style you select most often reflects our own nature. Meditation is not the goal, the path toward growth.

With in your meditation, once you have learned to guide yourself into it a focused meditation the real trick is learning to silence your own inner turmoil, or as I like to say turn off your inner dialog. Only when you stop trying to think your way around your energy can you really focus on feeling it, understanding how it flows in your body.

Take a moment, if you will, and close your eyes and focus on thinking simply nothing. I think you will find it is tricky to do so. We are brought up with language, with speaking and identifying things. We learn from the time we are able to comprehend that things have names and needs identified.

Rather than simply being silent, we actually tend to think the word Silence. By putting a name to the silence, we disrupt it. Instead of thinking of silence, focus instead on listening, feeling, taking in information around you but only let your conscious mind focus on each thing a moment.  Let yourself focus on the sound of the air around you, the pulse of your heart, the clothing on your skin. Feel these things than feel not for some force of energy, but what you are feeling. Your energy is reflected in your mood, in how your body feels and how it is reacting to the things around you.

Learning to find this inner silence allows you to identify that energy, to seek it out and identify the feeling completely, not just the mood, but the factors around you that influence it. Once it is identified, we can do things to change that energy, to mold it and make into what we desire to some extent.
