Sensing Prana

(self and others)

By Deacon Gray

Energy levels with in the body are not the same as the Prana that we possess. It is a common mistake to think so. There is biological energy, derived from food, water and good health, and there are energies found only in wholeness of the individual, whether derived from our own inner strength, drawn from the flesh of others, or from the very fabric of nature and the spiritual realms.

After we have learned to identify our own energies, we have also to learn to understand what energies we can use in the skills we employ as Vampires, and how to focus those energies for a sexual vampires benefit.  People have various definitions for that energy, but the one I am going to use here is Prana. The workable energy.

There are days when I feel like I can take on the world. When I just know I could reach out and grab the lightening and cast it to the ground, even though the obvious physics behind that make it unrealistic. Typically, this is when I feel like my personal energy and my Prana are at their highest levels. This is when I can feel the most potently, though it is not the only time I can feel the Prana I possess.

I started out with my practice of using my Prana, my energy in lightening storms. Many of us have found this time to be exciting, but calming down, focusing and using that energy can be a little difficult. It is hard to sit and focus on little changes, when we feel like we can run with the wind, still try it.

Take a moment to center yourself, to find that inner silence I spoke of before. Sit before a candle and focus on the flame. Let your vision slide away from it as an object, but toward the halo effect around it. As you feel the currents around you slowly push out not with your mind, but with your energy. See if you can make little movements of the flame.

This is not the ability to move solid objects through the air. You are influencing the energy of the candle. The practice of this skill is not designed to make you able to toss the flame around, but to feel its energy and your own.

That energy you are pushing with is your Prana, and your skill in finding that focus is the goal, not the amount of dancing you can get the flame to produce. You are feeling both your own Prana as well as the Prana of the candle.

The gentle probing of the loose energy of the candle is a good start, but it is only a start. The candles energy is uncontained, it is flowing freely and thus easily influenced. The Focus involved doing it however is the same as the focus involved in learning to reach out to others and sense their energy as well.

Individual energy is contained, controlled, often shielded from others in ways that can be difficult to adjust too. We learn by practicing our skills on difficult as well as willing subjects. We take our time and apply the subtle touch to our skills.

Normally the first thing we find is that energy, even shielded energy puts off its own. A strong shield tells me a great deal about ones individual energy. The way that shield is employed tells you much about their personality disposition.

Someone who uses the image and energy to employ a solid barrier type of shield can show a great many things, like how skilled they are, how new to their own strength, or even if they are seriously on guard about something.  A soft shield, such as a foggy obfuscation, an emotional quagmire or many others also tells a story all of its own.
